In 2016 Ethiopia public debt was 36,335 million euros 40,219 million dollars, has increased 4,8525,288 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 54.97% of Ethiopia GDP, a 0.96 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 54.01% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Ethiopia debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 8,514 million euros 10,690 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 69.95%.
According to the last data point published, Ethiopia per capita debt in 2016 was 398 euros441 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 351 euros 389 dollars, afterwards rising by 47 euros52 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 110 euros139 dollars .
The position of Ethiopia, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 109 in the list of debt to GDP and 36 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
