In 2017 Bahrain public debt was 27,689 million euros 31,281 million dollars, has increased 3,9975,056 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 88.24% of Bahrain GDP, a 6.94 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 81.3% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Bahrain debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 2,591 million euros 3,550 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 16.35%.
According to the last data point published, Bahrain per capita debt in 2017 was 18,533 euros20,937 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 16,638 euros 18,416 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,895 euros2,521 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,493 euros3,417 dollars .
The position of Bahrain, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 162 in the list of debt to GDP and 160 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
