In 2017 Bahamas public debt was 5,801 million euros 7,615 million dollars, has increased 4111,065 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 60.97% of Bahamas GDP, a 6.39 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 54.58% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Bahamas debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 1,781 million euros 2,679 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 25.34%.
According to the last data point published, Bahamas per capita debt in 2017 was 15,594 euros20,470 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 14,648 euros 17,608 dollars, afterwards rising by 946 euros2,862 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 5,348 euros7,950 dollars .
The position of Bahamas, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 121 in the list of debt to GDP and 156 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
