In 2018 Bahamas public debt was 6,579 million euros 7,773 million dollars, has increased 7791,223 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 63.26% of Bahamas GDP, a 8.88 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 54.38% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Bahamas debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 1,822 million euros 2,679 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 25.34%.
According to the last data point published, Bahamas per capita debt in 2018 was 17,451 euros20,618 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 15,592 euros 17,608 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,859 euros3,010 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 5,406 euros7,950 dollars .
The position of Bahamas, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 130 in the list of debt to GDP and 157 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
