In 2016 Bahamas public debt was 5,390 million euros 5,965 million dollars, has increased 310328 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 53.02% of Bahamas GDP, a 3.46 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 49.56% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Bahamas debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 1,845 million euros 2,316 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 23.15%.
According to the last data point published, Bahamas per capita debt in 2016 was 14,648 euros16,209 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 13,956 euros 15,486 dollars, afterwards rising by 692 euros723 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 5,607 euros7,040 dollars .
The position of Bahamas, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 104 in the list of debt to GDP and 157 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
