In 2017 Azerbaijan public debt was 8,248 million euros 9,318 million dollars, has increased 1,2031,520 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 22.57% of Azerbaijan GDP, a 1.96 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 20.61% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Azerbaijan debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 966 million euros 1,324 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 4%.
According to the last data point published, Azerbaijan per capita debt in 2017 was 833 euros941 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 718 euros 795 dollars, afterwards rising by 115 euros146 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 112 euros153 dollars .
The position of Azerbaijan, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 17 in the list of debt to GDP and 53 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
