In 2015 Afghanistan public debt was 1,650 million euros 1,831 million dollars, has increased 29734 million since 2014.
This amount means that the debt in 2015 reached 9.12% of Afghanistan GDP, a 0.4 percentage point rise from 2014, when it was 8.72% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Afghanistan debt. It has gone down since 2005 in global debt terms, when it was 10,215 million euros 12,709 million dollars , and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 206.36%.
According to the last data point published, Afghanistan per capita debt in 2015 was 49 euros54 dollars per inhabitant. In 2014 it was 41 euros 55 dollars, afterwards rising by 8 euros1 dolar, and if we again check 2005 we can see that then the debt per person was 411 euros511 dollars .
The position of Afghanistan, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2015 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 4 in the list of debt to GDP and 2 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
