GDP improves in Iceland

Gross Domestic Product of Iceland grew 2.1% in 2003 compared to last year. This rate is 15 -tenths of one percent higher than the figure of 0.6% published in 2002.

The GDP figure in 2003 was €10,118$11,429 million, Iceland is number 97 in the ranking of GDP of the 195 countries that we publish. The absolute value of GDP in Iceland rose €207$2,111 million with respect to 2002.

The GDP per capita of Iceland in 2003 was €34,970$39,620, €510$7,104 higher than in 2002, it was €34,460$32,516. To view the evolution of the GDP per capita, it is interesting to look back a few years and compare these data with those of 1993 when the GDP per capita in Iceland was €19,800$23,726.
