In 2023, CO2 emissions in Sudan have fallen 0.13 megatons, 0.61% compared to 2022.
CO2 emissions in 2023 were 21.273 megatons, making Sudan is the 97th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Sudan, have decreased in 2023, in which they have been 0.34 tons per inhabitant.
Regarding evolution f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Sudan, has emitted 0.14 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, more than in 2022.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have grown since 2013, while per capita emissions have decreased and as well as CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
However, in the last five years, total emissions have decreased in Sudan, as have emissions per capita, then the situation is improving.
