In Cabo Verde, CO2 emissions during 2012 have fallen 0.117 megatons, 13.48% compared to 2011.
CO2 emissions in 2012 were 0.751 megatons, making Cabo Verde is in the group of low-polluting countries, mainly due to its small population, within the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Cabo Verde, have decreased in 2012, in which they have been 1.46 tons per inhabitant.
Finally, it is interesting to observe the behavior f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Cabo Verde, has emitted 0.21 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, a lower figure than in 2011.

However, in the last five years, total emissions have decreased in Cabo Verde, as have emissions per capita, then the situation is improving.
