Islam, with 98% of the population, is the religion of the majority of the population. A very hight percentage of population, 99.92%, confess to having religious feelings.

The latest survey data indicate believers share of Mauritania population, has dropped to 99.92%. As to Islam has not change, the previous survey recorded 98% of the population professed it and according to the latest data 98% follow it.
