Hindu believers fall in India

Hindu is the India's top religion, around 79% of the population. A very hight percentage of population, 99.59%, consider themselves religious.

The latest survey data indicate believers share of India population, has dropped to 99.59%. As to Hindu it has also decreased, the previous survey recorded 80% of the population professed it and according to the latest data 79% follow it.

Islam is the second most practiced religion in India, accounts for about 10.85% of the population.
