There are 28 suicides per day in Thailand

In 2009 occurred 10,267 suicides in Thailand. This year, 411 more people committed suicide than in 2008. In 2009, on average 28 Thai committed suicide every day.

Thailand had 15.35 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.

Thailand is a country with a high rate of suicide.

Of the 10,267 recorded suicide cases in 2009, 7,137 were men suicides and 3,130 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 21.43 per 100,000 men and for women 9.07 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Thailand suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 3,703 homicides in Thailand, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.8 suicides.
