There are 27 suicides per day in Thailand

By 2008, suicides in Thailand increased by 353 people to at 9,856 suicides In 2008, on average 27 Thai committed suicide every day.

In Thailand there were 14.81 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 9.96 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 9,856 recorded suicide cases in 2008, 6,854 were men suicides and 3,002 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.72 per 100,000 men and for women 8.77 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Thailand suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 3,974 homicides in Thailand, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.5 suicides.
