Switzerland is a country with a high rate of suicide.
Of the 1,314 recorded suicide cases in 2008, 861 were men suicides and 453 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 22.9 per 100,000 men and for women 11.6 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Switzerland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 54 homicides in Switzerland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 24.3 suicides.
