Switzerland has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 1,621 recorded suicide cases in 1983, 1,157 were men suicides and 464 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 37 per 100,000 men and for women 14.1 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
