Of the 1,574 recorded suicide cases in 1982, 1,095 were men suicides and 479 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 35.2 per 100,000 men and for women 14.6 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
