In Sudan there were 9.93 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 10 self-harm per 100.000 people.
Of the 3,883 recorded suicide cases in 2009, 2,798 were men suicides and 1,085 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.96 per 100,000 men and for women 6.59 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Sudan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,702 homicides in Sudan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.3 suicides.
