There are 10 suicides per day in Sudan

In 2008 around 3,798 suicides occurred in Sudan, 49 more than in 2007. In 2008, on average 10 Sudanese committed suicide every day.

Sudan reported 9.96 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, which is the same suicide rate as in the world.

Of the 3,798 recorded suicide cases in 2008, 2,743 were men suicides and 1,055 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.08 per 100,000 men and for women 6.59 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Sudan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,702 homicides in Sudan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.2 suicides.
