Spain has a low suicide rate

In 1986 occurred 2,755 suicides in Spain. This year, 241 more people committed suicide than in 1985. In 1986, on average 8 Spaniards committed suicide every day.

Spain had 7.1 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.39 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Spain has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 2,755 recorded suicide cases in 1986, 2,032 were men suicides and 723 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 10.7 per 100,000 men and for women 3.7 per 100,000 female.
