Spain has a low suicide rate

In 1983 occurred 2,181 suicides in Spain. This year, 330 more people committed suicide than in 1982. In 1983, on average 6 Spaniards committed suicide every day.

Spain had 5.7 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.81 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Spain has a low suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 2,181 recorded suicide cases in 1983, 1,593 were men suicides and 588 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 8.5 per 100,000 men and for women 3 per 100,000 female.
