Suicides grow in Saudi Arabia

By 2009, suicides in Saudi Arabia increased by 61 people to at 959 suicides On average, there are 3 suicides per day.

In Saudi Arabia there were 3.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, much less than the average suicide in the world, of 10 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Of the 959 recorded suicide cases in 2009, 739 were men suicides and 220 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 4.53 per 100,000 men and for women 1.81 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Saudi Arabia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death.
