Luxembourg has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 70 recorded suicide cases in 1999, 49 were men suicides and 21 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 23.1 per 100,000 men and for women 9.6 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Luxembourg suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 6 homicides in Luxembourg, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 11.7 suicides.
