In Kazakhstan there were 28 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 10 suicides per 100,000 people.
Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.
Of the 4,537 recorded suicide cases in 2009, 3,674 were men suicides and 862 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 48 per 100,000 men and for women 10.22 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kazakhstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,771 homicides in Kazakhstan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.6 suicides.
