Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate

In 2008 around 4,754 suicides occurred in Kazakhstan, 243 less than in 2007. In 2008, on average 13 Kazakhs committed suicide every day.

Kazakhstan reported 29.75 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 9.96 suicides per 100,000 people.

Kazakhstan has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 4,754 recorded suicide cases in 2008, 3,849 were men suicides and 905 were women. Men have a high rate of death by suicide compared with women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 51.32 per 100,000 men and for women 10.94 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Kazakhstan suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1,807 homicides in Kazakhstan, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.6 suicides.
