Suicides fell in Iceland

By 2001, suicides in Iceland increased by 14 people to at 36 suicides

In Iceland there were 12.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.88 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 36 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 28 were men suicides and 8 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 19.6 per 100,000 men and for women 5.6 per 100,000 female.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Iceland suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 1 homicides in Iceland, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 36 suicides.
