Suicides decreased in Iceland

In 1987 around 36 suicides occurred in Iceland, 1 less than in 1986.

Iceland reported 14.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.56 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Iceland, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 36 recorded suicide cases in 1987, 22 were men suicides and 14 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 17.8 per 100,000 men and for women 11.4 per 100,000 female.
