Suicides increase in Iceland

In 1986 occurred 37 suicides in Iceland. This year, 5 more people committed suicide than in 1985.

Iceland had 15.2 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 15.39 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Iceland, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 37 recorded suicide cases in 1986, 25 were men suicides and 12 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 20.5 per 100,000 men and for women 9.9 per 100,000 female.
