Suicides increase in Iceland

In 1961 occurred 19 suicides in Iceland. This year, 5 more people committed suicide than in 1960.

Iceland had 10.6 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, less than the average suicide in the world, of 11.25 self-harm per 100.000 people.

Iceland, has a relatively low rate of suicide per inhabitants.

Of the 19 recorded suicide cases in 1961, 14 were men suicides and 5 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.5 per 100,000 men and for women 5.6 per 100,000 female.
