In Gabon there were 11.26 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, above the world average of 10.88 suicides per 100,000 people.

Of the 139 recorded suicide cases in 2001, 99 were men suicides and 40 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 15.28 per 100,000 men and for women 6.03 per 100,000 female.
