Croatia has a very high suicide rate

In 1988 occurred 1,113 suicides in Croatia. This year, 40 fewer people committed suicide than in 1987. In 1988, on average 3 Croatians committed suicide every day.

Croatia had 23.4 suicides per 100,000 inhabitants, well above the world average of 15.07 suicides per 100,000 people.

Croatia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 1,113 recorded suicide cases in 1988, 769 were men suicides and 344 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 33.4 per 100,000 men and for women 14 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.
