Of the 3,700 recorded suicide cases in 2008, 2,773 were men suicides and 927 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 16.8 per 100,000 men and for women 5.5 per 100,000 female.
Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Canada suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 614 homicides in Canada, the number of suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 6 suicides.
