Bolivia has a very high suicide rate compared to other countries.

Of the 2,053 recorded suicide cases in 2008, 1,321 were men suicides and 732 were women. So that, the suicide rate among males were 26.51 per 100,000 men and for women 14.94 per 100,000 female. In spite of this, it is one of the countries with the highest female suicide rate in the world.

Statistics show that in 2014, suicides were the main cause of unnatural death in the world. In Bolivia suicide also is one of the leading causes of unnatural death. By comparison, there were 828 homicides in Bolivia, suicides far outnumber homicides. For every homicide there were 2.5 suicides.
