In January, vehicle registrations in Australia grew by 4.46% with respect to January of 2002. In total, 61,170 cars were registered and 826,922 new cars were sold in the last twelve months, 6.04% more than the year before.
The breakdown of car sales figures for the month of January is:
- Commercial vehicles sold: 21,155, 12.66% more than in January of 2002.
- Passenger cars regitrations: 40,015, which represents a figure of 0.59% more than in January of 2002.
