In 2007, the national minimum wage in Paraguay remained fixed at €197.3 per month, that is 2,368 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Guaranies, which is the official currency in Paraguay, we can see that, this year, it was 1,341,775 Guaranies and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 121,980 Guaranies per month from the previous year, 10%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2006 which was 12.5%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Paraguay is in 32 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 84 of the list.
