Japan rises the national minimum wage

In 2006, the national minimum wage in Japan remained fixed at €835.2 per month, that is 10,022 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Japanese yen, which is the official currency in Japan, we can see that, this year, it was 116,003.3 Japanese yen and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 606.6 Japanese yen per month from the previous year, 0.53%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2005 which was -0.1%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
