Indonesia rises the national minimum wage

In 2006, the national minimum wage in Indonesia remained fixed at €51.9 per month, that is 623 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in Indonesian rupiah, which is the official currency in Indonesia, we can see that, this year, it was 602,200 Indonesian rupiah and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 94,500 Indonesian rupiah per month from the previous year, 18.61%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2005 which was 17.1%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Indonesia is in 65 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 81 of the list.
