Since June 2005, the national minimum wage in Hungary remained fixed at €224.8 per month, that is 2,698 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Hungarian forints, which is the official currency in Hungary, we can see that, this year, it was 57,000 Hungarian forints and accordingly, the national minimum wage has remained stable, while the CPI of 2005 which was 5.5%, so workers have lost purchasing power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Hungary is in 24 nd place of the 78 of the list.
