Honduras rises the national minimum wage

In 2011, the national minimum wage in Honduras remained fixed at €231.2 per month, that is 2,774 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in lempiras, which is the official currency in Honduras, we can see that, this year, it was 5,857.5 lempiras and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 357.5 lempiras per month from the previous year, 6.5%. This increase is equal to the CPI of 2010, and so workers have maintained purchasing power in the last year.
