In 2007, the national minimum wage in Honduras remained fixed at €86.6 per month, that is 1,039 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in lempiras, which is the official currency in Honduras, we can see that, this year, it was 2,156 lempiras and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 214 lempiras per month from the previous year, 11.02%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2006 which was 5.3%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.
