El Salvador rises the national minimum wage

In 2006, the national minimum wage in El Salvador remained fixed at €125.2 per month, that is 1,502 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.

If we look at the minimum salary in United States dollars, which is the official currency in El Salvador, we can see that, this year, it was 147.7 United States dollars and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 13.6 United States dollars per month from the previous year, 10.14%. This increase is greater than the CPI of 2005 which was 4.3%, so workers have gained buying power in the last year.

If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, El Salvador is in 45 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 81 of the list.
