If we look at the minimum salary in Egyptian pounds, which is the official currency in Egypt, we can see that, this year, it was 700 Egyptian pounds and accordingly, the national minimum wage has remained stable, while the CPI of 2012 which was 4.7%, so workers have lost purchasing power in the last year.
