Since December 2003, the national minimum wage in Argentina remained fixed at €84.7 per month, that is 1,016 euros per year, taking into account 12 payments per year.
If we look at the minimum salary in Argentinian pesos, which is the official currency in Argentina, we can see that, this year, it was 300 Argentinian pesos and accordingly, the national minimum wage has been raised 10 Argentinian pesos per month from the previous year, 3.45%. This increase is less than the CPI of 2003 which was 40.9%,and so workers, despite the raise, have lost buying power in the last year.
If we look at the ranking of the national minimum wage that we publish, Argentina is in 43 nd place, so it is among the countries with the lowest minimum salary of the 72 of the list.
