In 2018 Uruguay public debt was 32,081 million euros 37,887 million dollars, has increased 551,707 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 63.54% of Uruguay GDP, a 2.8 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 60.74% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Uruguay debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 10,366 million euros 15,246 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 50.2%.
According to the last data point published, Uruguay per capita debt in 2018 was 9,301 euros10,984 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 9,319 euros 10,528 dollars, afterwards dropping by 18 euros 456dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 3,082 euros4,533 dollars .
The position of Uruguay, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 133 in the list of debt to GDP and 147 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
