In 2020 Uruguay public debt was 33,786 million euros38,591 million dollars, has increased 3411,149 million since 2019.
This amount means that the debt in 2020 reached 68.06% of Uruguay GDP, a 7.6 percentage point rise from 2019, when it was 60.46% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Uruguay debt. It has risen since 2010 in global debt terms, when it was 13,564 million euros 17,981 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 41.05%.
According to the last data point published, Uruguay per capita debt in 2020 was 9,726 euros11,109 dollars per inhabitant. In 2019 it was 9,661 euros 10,816 dollars, afterwards rising by 65 euros293 dollars, and if we again check 2010 we can see that then the debt per person was 3,993 euros5,293 dollars .
The position of Uruguay, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2020 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 122 in the list of debt to GDP and 148 in debt per capita, out of the 190 we publish.
