In 2017 Mozambique public debt was 11,498 million euros 12,989 million dollars, has decreased 472 260 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 103.15% of Mozambique GDP, a 18.4 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 121.55% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Mozambique debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 2,486 million euros 3,406 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 35.99%.
According to the last data point published, Mozambique per capita debt in 2017 was 388 euros438 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 415 euros 460 dollars, afterwards dropping by 27 euros 22dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 111 euros152 dollars .
The position of Mozambique, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 174 in the list of debt to GDP and 30 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
