In 2018 Montenegro public debt was 3,352 million euros 3,959 million dollars, has increased 502739 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 72.57% of Montenegro GDP, a 6.27 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 66.3% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Montenegro debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 1,061 million euros 1,561 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 34.19%.
According to the last data point published, Montenegro per capita debt in 2018 was 5,387 euros6,363 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 4,579 euros 5,173 dollars, afterwards rising by 808 euros1,190 dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,719 euros2,529 dollars .
The position of Montenegro, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 146 in the list of debt to GDP and 128 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
