In 2016 Montenegro public debt was 2,643 million euros 2,926 million dollars, has increased 130138 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 70.05% of Montenegro GDP, a 0.73 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 69.32% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Montenegro debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 781 million euros 981 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 36.33%.
According to the last data point published, Montenegro per capita debt in 2016 was 4,247 euros4,701 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 4,039 euros 4,481 dollars, afterwards rising by 208 euros220 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 1,271 euros1,595 dollars .
The position of Montenegro, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 139 in the list of debt to GDP and 119 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
