This amount means that the debt in 2021 reached 150.8% of Italy GDP, a 4.5 percentage point fall from 2020, when it was 155.3% of GDP.

According to the last data point published, Italy per capita debt in 2021 was 45,207 euros53,467 dollars per inhabitant. In 2020 it was 43,432 euros 49,582 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,775 euros3,885 dollars, and if we again check 2011 we can see that then the debt per person was 33,226 euros46,241 dollars .
