This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 131.8% of Italy GDP, a 0.2 percentage point fall from 2016, when it was 132% of GDP.

According to the last data point published, Italy per capita debt in 2017 was 37,351 euros42,195 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 36,615 euros 40,529 dollars, afterwards rising by 736 euros1,666 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 27,385 euros37,531 dollars .
