In 2018 Iraq public debt was 93,370 million euros110,270 million dollars, has decreased 8,5344,851 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 48.89% of Iraq GDP, a 10 percentage point fall from 2017, when it was 58.89% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Iraq debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 66,378 million euros 97,629 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 74.17%.
According to the last data point published, Iraq per capita debt in 2018 was 2,429 euros2,869 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 2,714 euros 3,066 dollars, afterwards dropping by 285 euros 197dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 2,255 euros3,317 dollars .
The position of Iraq, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 96 in the list of debt to GDP and 96 in debt per capita, out of the 188 we publish.
