In 2018 Brazil public debt was 1,389,520 million euros 1,641,023 million dollars, has decreased 138,671 85,374 million since 2017.
This amount means that the debt in 2018 reached 87.89% of Brazil GDP, a 3.82 percentage point rise from 2017, when it was 84.07% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Brazil debt. It has risen since 2008 in global debt terms, when it was 718,824 million euros 1,057,247 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 62.37%.
According to the last data point published, Brazil per capita debt in 2018 was 6,634 euros7,834 dollars per inhabitant. In 2017 it was 7,353 euros 8,307 dollars, afterwards dropping by 719 euros 473dollars, and if we again check 2008 we can see that then the debt per person was 3,763 euros5,535 dollars .
The position of Brazil, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2018 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 161 in the list of debt to GDP and 140 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
