In 2017 Brazil public debt was 1,528,370 million euros 1,726,599 million dollars, has increased 257,366319,725 million since 2016.
This amount means that the debt in 2017 reached 83.97% of Brazil GDP, a 5.54 percentage point rise from 2016, when it was 78.43% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Brazil debt. It has risen since 2007 in global debt terms, when it was 649,746 million euros 890,477 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 63.79%.
According to the last data point published, Brazil per capita debt in 2017 was 7,303 euros8,250 dollars per inhabitant. In 2016 it was 6,167 euros 6,826 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,136 euros1,424 dollars, and if we again check 2007 we can see that then the debt per person was 3,430 euros4,700 dollars .
The position of Brazil, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2017 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 158 in the list of debt to GDP and 142 in debt per capita, out of the 186 we publish.
