In 2016 Algeria public debt was 29,577 million euros 32,739 million dollars, has increased 16,49318,222 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 20.58% of Algeria GDP, a 11.83 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 8.75% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Algeria debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 22,031 million euros 27,662 million dollars although it has fallen as a percentage of GDP, when it amounted to 23.64%.
According to the last data point published, Algeria per capita debt in 2016 was 726 euros803 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 327 euros 363 dollars, afterwards rising by 399 euros440 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 661 euros829 dollars .
The position of Algeria, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 13 in the list of debt to GDP and 51 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
