CO2 emissions South Korea 2022

South Korea reduced CO2 emissions

In South Korea, CO2 emissions during 2022 have fallen 7.401 megatons, 1.15% compared to 2021.

CO2 emissions in 2022 were 635.503 megatons, making South Korea is among the ten most polluting countries en lo que respecta a emisiones de dióxido de carbono delin terms of carbon dioxide emissions in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.

In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in South Korea, have decreased in 2022, in which they have been 12.26 tons per inhabitant.

South Korea belongs to the group of countries that emit the most CO2 per inhabitant.

Finally, it is interesting to observe the behavior f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, South Korea, has emitted 0.27 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, a lower figure than in 2021.

In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have grown since 2012, while per capita emissions have decreased and, on the contrary, CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.

However, in the last five years, total emissions have decreased in South Korea, as have emissions per capita, then the situation is improving.
