In 2021, CO2 emissions in Qatar have grown 2.966 megatons, 3.13% compared to 2020.
CO2 emissions in 2021 were 97.694 megatons, making Qatar is the 144th conutry in the ranking of countries for CO2 emissions, made up of 184 countries, in which the countries are ranked from least to most pollutant.
In addition to its total emissions of CO2 into the atmospher, which logically depend, among other variables, on the country's population, it is convenient to analyze the behavior of its emissions per inhabitant. In the table we see that per capita CO2 emissions in Qatar, have increased in 2021, in which they have been 34.4 tons per inhabitant.
Qatar belongs to the group of countries that emit the most CO2 per inhabitant.
Regarding evolution f CO2 emissions per 1000 dollars of GDP, which measures, for the same country, the "environmental efficiency" with which it is produced over time. In the last period, Qatar, has emitted 0.39 kilos for every $ 1,000 of GDP, the same as in 2020.
In the table we can see the evolution of CO2 emissions, which have grown since 2011, while per capita emissions have decreased and, on the contrary, CO2 emissions per $ 1,000 of GDP.
However, in the last five years, total emissions have decreased in Qatar, as have emissions per capita, then the situation is improving.
